Boon’s solution-oriented, forward-thinking team is always coming up with new ways to optimize operations for the trucking industry. We ensure that our customers receive the highest quality of service so they can focus on what they do best. Software Engineer Brett Hardin plays a key role in exciting projects that are changing the logistics landscape—and he’s doing so with equally passionate and creative colleagues by his side.
Going Paperless
“Any time an industry still relies on paper, it’s the ‘right time’ to get disrupted,” Brett explains. Boon’s emphasis on driving the logistics industry’s relationship with technology means we’re committed to addressing the traditional reliance on paper records. As our customers’ scope of operations and client base grow in our increasingly connected world, these companies need to keep up and mitigate the burdens of managing physical documents. Boon’s software engineers are developing innovative ways to digitize data and improve the user experience through easy searching and organization. For Brett, being part of the solution for this legacy issue was one of his main reasons for joining Boon. Brett was also excited about the environmentally friendly aspect of Boon’s digitalization solutions.
Managing Data for Improved Customer Service
Boon’s job doesn’t end with turning piles of paper into digital files; our software engineers continuously improve our systems to make business easier for our customers. Software engineers like Brett also keep in mind that not only Boon customers are affected by our projects—we’re indirectly supporting virtually every industry.
“Trucking is huge. A lot of people don’t understand that every time you go to a grocery store, anything you buy arrived on a truck." Brett explains. With a market this large and connections this extensive, it’s crucial that trucking and logistics companies have the right platforms and tools to keep track of routes, shipments, and clients. Brett’s current project aims to meet this need by focusing on gathering and parsing the vast pool of unstructured data in this industry (including PDFs, CSV files, and emails) and strategically organizing it within Boon’s systems as structured data to serve customers faster.
The Boon Team: Working Strategically and Collaboratively
It’s not just the end product that Boon team members find rewarding when they think about their work; it’s also about the process of collaborating with like-minded, talented peers to realize ambitious visions.
“I think that Boon has the smartest team of people I’ve ever worked with,” Brett enthuses. “The talent of the team is just insanely high, and we do a great job of making sure that equally great people join."
